Reflections On Painting My Inner Goddess

Last weekend I participated in a Intuitive Painting seminar for the day.  It was an invitation to a new spiritual practice that explores the sacred through breathing and moving your body and trusting the brush to follow the energy in and around and through me so as to open a door into my soul and claim the vision, the sacred, the energy within myself. [paraphrased from a poem by Corrine Gilman]

In Memory

Very sadley our Big Heart Sweet Heart Studio dog, Jack-ie, left us for puppy heaven.

He was an amazing example of how love can give one the strenght to grow.

The Critic

What does it mean to face the critic?
We all have a critic. The critic is what keeps us with in “safe” limits.
That sounds great until we have a growth spurt.
I can’t do that because....
Because WHY?
You will be too loud....
Too big...
Too full of yourself?
What what would it be like to be really FULL OF YOURSELF?!

Marion Williamson said it so well-

My First Language is Color Shape and Form

I have never been a chatty person.  Not much for small talk, in fact I would be happiest just being in someones presence without the social obligation to talk.

Creative Evolution from Alex and Allyson Grey

The Soul wants us to grow new organs of perception
To aid in our survival.
To grow a planetary ear and eye
A planetary body and mind
A cosmic ear and eye
A cosmic body and mind.

Conditions on earth are always shifting.
Adapt to new conditions or become extinct.
Adapt and survive is the creative evolutionary imperative of art.

The imagination is home of the Soul,
A roost for demons and angels.
An eternal being flowing through many lifetimes.

Listen to your angel to hear the sound of evolution.
See the vision of evolution.
Dance the dance.
Some angels evolve the mind through the eye,
Some

a painting experience #2-challenged by my own notions of creativity

in

During the Painting from my Heart weekend I was challenged by my own notions of creativity.  As I moved through painting, I was shown my own judgements of myself.  It became easier then and the third painting that was created was made by my inner child!  It was so much fun letting go and just enjoying being creative just for the sake of creativity.

a painting experience #1- reaching beyond our usual boundaries

Damini has that great talent of providing structure while inspiring us to reach beyond our usual boundaries. Ample paints in multiple colors, abundant brushes of all kinds, no shortage of paper and being allowed to spatter the floor, all allowed a rare freedom to get out of our heads. Our faces at the end of the weekend were testimony to how we were touched on a deep level. If there is any word to describe the class it is Action--not a place for lengthy verbal exploration of our psyches, but an opportunity to Be. .
