I still have my very first oil painting of Snoopy dancing. Looking at that painting brings me such joy, not because of how well it was done, but because of how happy it makes me feel, even now!

That quiet space within my creative Spirit has always been a most precious time. Since a very young child I have taken art classes. I did formal art training, and have a BFA from CalArts in photography and painting. I have explored the creative range from sculpting to photography, from bead weaving  to jewelry making, from pencil drawing to Asian calligraphy - painting with 10 lb mop brushes. I have danced to any good groove and did movement work with Gabriel Roth in the early 90’s . However the creative muse speaks to me, I’ve explored.

I have taught at schools, colleges, and community centers over the years. Practice Oriental medicine and Shamanism for almost twenty years. Healing, Creativity, Movement, Spiritual work- I have come to understand is all the same creative energy for me. Reintroducing folks back to their creative birthright, is what I love to do. Some times that is with energy work, being in nature or with paint brush in hand.

In 2009- I was told to “Do painting from the Heart” in a dream. I found Chris Zydel “Painting from the wild heart” on the web — studied with her and then joined her teachers training program. I weave all my experiences, into the BrushHeart painting classes.
